Information about the Lake Erie Island Fest

The Lake Erie Island Fest features a volleyball and Cornhole tournament on Middle Bass Island. There have been volleyball tournaments on the islands for over 20 years and many have drawn over 200 teams with 6 players each. This year, we are introducing Cornhole to the tournament. Cornhole is growing in popularity and when combined with the island atmosphere, we expect a very large turnout. This isn’t just a run of the mill tournament. There is a player’s party, music, dancing and just an overall good time had by all.

Our main purpose of the festival is to keep the sport of volleyball strong in Ohio and surrounding states. We also encourage a healthy lifestyle by getting people out and competing. There are many people 50+ who are still very competitive volleyball players. And now we will attempt to do the same with Cornhole. However, this is not an extremely profitable venture. Costs include the purchase of equipment, each participant receives a t-shirt, prizes, ferry costs, there is a player’s party which includes food and beer, portable potty rental and land and island kickbacks. And now with the added cost of advertising, we are attempting to secure sponsorship. We are offering a wide variety of sponsorship options to meet both of our needs. You advertising dollar will go a long way with each package.

Why Sponsor the Festival?

You receive plenty of exposure from our marketing campaign. Our distribution lists contain 3000+ names. The island distribution list contains over 25,000 names. We also print and distribute 1000’s of flyers. Your logo will be displayed before, during and long after the tournament offering enduring advertising. I have seen volleyball tournament shirts being worn 10+ years after the tournament. And some have even created blankets using the shirts as the material.

This tournament is also a fantastic team building event and offers fun competition amongst companies. For example, if we get enough teams from car dealerships, we will establish a car dealership division if requested. There will be plenty of pictures posted on the website after the tournament.
